Sanctum Cleanup · Effective September 18, 2026

The short version

Sanctum Cleanup does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and makes no network connections.

Your photos stay on your device

The app reads your photo library only to find items you may want to remove: copies, similar shots, large videos, screenshots, blurry photos and Live Photos. All analysis runs on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

What the app saves on your phone

A list of what it found in your recent scans (by item id), a cache of on-device fingerprints so later scans are faster, and your notification preference. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Photo library access

Full Access is needed to see your whole library and to move items to Recently Deleted on your behalf. Every deletion is confirmed by Apple's own system dialog, and deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days, as with any deletion in Photos. "Keep still only" for a Live Photo re-adds its picture as a normal photo and deletes the original the same way.

Sanctum Photo Vault

Choosing "Hide" opens the system share sheet. If you send an item to Sanctum Photo Vault, that app's privacy policy applies to it from then on. Cleanup works fully without it.
