Sanctum Montage · Effective September 22, 2026
The short version
Sanctum Montage does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. The only network use is your own iCloud Drive, if you have it turned on.
Your photos and videos stay yours
Montage only sees the photos and videos you pick or share into it. Copies are kept inside your montage project so the movie can be made again later. The movie is rendered entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere by us.
iCloud Drive
Montage projects, including the media you added and the finished movies, are stored in the Montage folder of your iCloud Drive so they open on your other devices. That data lives in your Apple account under Apple's privacy terms; we have no access to it. If iCloud Drive is off, projects stay on the device.
Music
To use a song from your music library, Montage asks for media library access and copies only the song you choose into the project. Songs from Apple Music streaming are protected and are refused, not copied. Built-in tracks are licensed from Pixabay.
Saving to Photos
Saving a movie asks for permission to add to your photo library. Montage adds only that movie; it never reads or changes anything else in Photos.
Share extension
Sharing to Montage from another app copies the items into Montage's inbox on your device. They are offered to a montage the next time you open the app.
Sanctum Photo Vault
If you send a movie to Sanctum Photo Vault, that app's privacy policy applies to it from then on. Montage works fully without it.
